DCRM Director
As a former business owner I
have seen a lot of people lose their jobs, homes, sometimes families or get
mixed up in a bad situation just to make ends meet. For several years I had it
in the back of my mind that when ‘I retire’ I wanted to work with the needy in
Decatur.
In January 2006 I had a heart
attack which led to open heart surgery.
My eyes became open to the fact that I might not reach retirement. When the Directorship of DCRM came open, my
wife and I shared the same feeling at
the same moment that this is what I should do.
With the support of my family I look forward to the vision of what God
has called me to do.
This is a ministry fully funded by
donations and funds raised through the Hope’s Attic Thrift Store. God has shown
me throughout this position that He is in control, not me, and that this is His
ministry, not mine. Everyday I see His
faithfulness to provide.
My prayer is that each person who
comes through the Water St Mission and Grace House will see how God has been
faithful to provide for DCRM. And, may
they always remember God made a way for them and His faithfulness will always
be with them if they just step out and move forward into the vision God has
spoken into their lives.
